The first August post! And just like that, it’s our third month for this maricon ‘econ’ delos santos personal blog. How time flies indeed!

So, what’s up for August? Any holiday, birthday or other affairs for August? Well, from the top of my head, I think Tita Mariz’ birthday is this month, August 27… Also Manuel Quezon‘s birthday is August too! :)

About the blog… I have to keep this blog alive.. I have to keep the blog post longer that 3 sentences :) … Ate, make it at least 100 words ok.. ayus lang kahit non-sense… at least 70% English.. do that for another month and we are on our way!

Iglesia ni Cristo turns 95 this Monday

I am one proud Iglesia ni Cristo member!

In the Philippines, President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo declared a special holiday on Monday.

It was on July 27, 1914 that INC was officially registered as a pioneering religious organization.

During this time, anti-colonialism movements in the Philippines, often with religious undertones, were the order of the day.

American missionary works were exposing the Filipino culture to many alternatives to Catholicism.

INC’s success is attributed primarily to its leadership-aggressive, materially successful, and indigenous movement.

Its founder Felix Y. Manalo, the man whom the members recognize as the “Messenger of God,” set out to perform his divine mission.

It’s a holiday today! No office, no work! Why? It’s June 12! Philippine Independece Day!
